• You must be a Nigerian Citizen

• You must meet some certain physical, mental, and psychological training ie be physically, mentally and medically fit.

•For males, a height of 1.7m while for females, a height of 1.67m.

  1. If you feel that you are an eligible graduate, then I believe you are qualified to join the Nigerian Navy.
  2. Go to their official recruitment portal.
  3. Check if your course of study is listed among the requirements
  4. Create your username and password on the website which you would use in registering your data.
  5. You would be presented with some forms which you are to complete. Be honest as you fill the form which will serve as a data base for you if you qualify finally. Also note that if your information is false and you are caught you will be prosecuted according to the law.

  6. Upon your submission of your form online, you would be required to print all documents out including attestation forms, consent forms, guarantor’s form, form filled by your Local Government Chairman, Traditional ruler e.t.c. All these you will take to the Navy recruitment centers when the dates of the Nigerian Navy Aptitude test are released online.
  7. Report to the Navy exam centers with copies of the following documents: Birth certificate, guarantors form, parent consent form, local government identification form, educational documents, certificates with photocopies.

Requirements for applying Nigerian Navy as Graduates

Before you send in your application on the website of the Nigerian Navy, it is important that you take a look at the requirements for applying as a graduate and make sure that you meet all the requirements in order not to waste your precious time and effort on a fruitless journey. The minimum requirements are as follows

  1. The job is opened only to Nigerians – you must be one before applying
  2. Applicants must be between the age of 22-35. For medical doctors, their age must not exceed 40.
  3. The applicant must be fit physically, mentally and medically before his application can be given any consideration. He/she must present evidence of such fitness as at the time of applying. In actual fact, all applicants are taken through series of test to determine their levels of fitness physically, mentally and medically.
  4. The individual must be given recommendation by minimum of 2 individuals and these individuals must be recognizable people in the society. They are required to attest to the integrity and character of the applicant. The individual that can give such recommendation may be Secretary or Chairman of the applicant’s Local Government of origin. It can also be military personnel starting from the rank of a Lieutenant Colonel.
    Police officers starting from the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police too can give such recommendation. The military or police personnel to give such recommendations must originate from the state of origin of the applicant. The person providing the recommendation is equally required to attach his/her passport photograph to the said recommendation letter.
  5. Letter of attestation from the institution he/she graduated from.
  6. The applicant is expected to be up to 1.68 m height for male and 1.65 m for female.
  7. He/she must never have been convicted of any crime by a court of law before. If the applicant is military personnel, he/she must be free of any form of military disciplinary case. The Commanding Officer of the military applicant is expected to attest to this.

  9. Applicants must graduate with minimum of Second Class Lower degree or Lower Credit.
  10. If the applicant is a civilian that has graduated from either a university or polytechnic, he/she is expected to also present NYSC certificate or valid exemption letter.

  15. It is forbidden for any of the applicants to be member of any secret fraternity, society or cult.
