The Johnson & Johnson Scholars Award Program wishes to fuel the growth of female STEM2D leaders and feed the STEM2D talent pipeline by granting and sponsoring females at real points in their careers, in each of the STEM2D fields: Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, Manufacturing and Design.
WiSTEM2D Scholars Award Program will sponsor one female per STEM2D field who has accomplished her advanced degree, who is working as an assistant professor (or global equivalent faculty position) and who is not yet tenured at an recognized university, institution or design school. The goal is to help the research desire of the awarded females and motivate career pathways in their individual STEM2D fields. Johnson & Johnson is keen to recognize global females foremost in both their research pitches and foremost as mentors, to be a vision for girls and other females in STEM2D. By presenting WiSTEM2D Scholars Award Program, Johnson & Johnson hopes to play an influential role in STEM2D breakthroughs in the future.

Benefits of WiSTEM2D Scholars Award Program
- The Award is a three-year grant in the gross amount of $150,000, which will be paid to the University (the “Beneficiary”) for the profit of the Johnson & Johnson Scholar and her research, with the understanding that the Beneficiary will administer the funds.
- The Award will be paid in three (3) installments of U.S. $50,000 each year of the three-year scholarship duration, payable in 2021, subject to compliance with the terms and situations of the program’s Agreement.
Eligibility for WiSTEM2D Scholars Award Program
- Applicant must be a female working in the field(s) of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Manufacturing and Design (STEM2D).
- Applicant must be an assistant female professor or global equivalent faculty position at the time of application at an recognized academic university, institution or design school.
The female Applicant should have at least degree for the appropriate field:
- Science; M.D., PhD.
- Technology; PhD.
- Engineering; PhD.
- Math; M.S., PhD.
- Manufacturing; PhD.
- Design; M.A., M.S., MDes, MArch, MFA, MLA, Ph.D.
Steps to Apply for WiSTEM2D Scholars Award Program
Additionally to general contact information and demographics, the scholar candidate is responsible for the provision of documents into the application system, as well as non-confidential letters of recommendation.
- Submit a university or school department head letter of recommendation (Note: each university/institution can support one applicant per STEM2D discipline; six applicants in total).
- Compose 1,000 words describing your proposed area of research. One added page can be for images, or references.
- Provide your resume (three pages, font size 11), including a list of publications, presentations, abstracts, present financial support already obtained, other folio work and two references.
- Submit a brief outline of your budget for proposed research. (Note: a template is provided if needed.)
