University of Auckland International Student Excellence Scholarshipis open to international students from all over the world who want to undertake undergraduate, masters or PG diploma for academic year 2020-2021. Up to 50 Scholarships will be awarded annually, and will be of the value of up to $10,000 each for postgraduate and undergraduate study.
University of Auckland International Student ExcellenceScholarship was founded in 2016. The foremost aim of the Scholarship is to attract new foreign students of high class to enroll in undergraduate or postgraduate taught study of one year or more at the University of Auckland.
About The University of Auckland
The University of Auckland was formally launched on 23rd of May 1883 as Auckland University College, part of the University of New Zealand. A neglected courthouse and jail served as location for the 95 students and four teaching staff. The number increased slowly but steadily during the remainder of the 19th century; by 1901 it had increased to 156 students.
Many students were registered part-time, training as teachers or law clerks, though after 1905 the number of commerce students increased markedly. During this time, the University concentrated on teaching: research was not expected, and was rarely done by teaching staff. Yet, some students carried out remarkable early research, most particularly in chemistry.

University of Auckland International Student Excellence Scholarship will benefits are:
- Up to 50 Scholarships will be awarded annually, and will be of the value of up to $10,000 each for postgraduate and undergraduate study.
- The Scholarship will be paid as a compulsory fees credit towards the first semester of study at the University of Auckland Compulsory fees are those only related to the relevant program of study, plus Student Services Fee.
Eligibility for University of Auckland International Student Excellence Scholarship
To qualify for University of Auckland International Student Excellence Scholarship, candidate must fulfill all of the following requirements below:
- Required Language: English.
- Eligible Countries: All world countries.
- Students enrolling in a Research Master’s program are not eligible to apply for this Scholarship.
- Undergraduate students from University of Auckland Foundation Providers (UP Education and Taylors College) and New Zealand secondary-school leavers are not eligible to apply for this Scholarship.
- Students must be enrolled as “on Campus” registrations. Students enrolling as distance education students will not be eligible to apply.
- International students are individuals who are neither citizens, permanent residents, nor resident visa holders of New Zealand or Australia.
- The scholarship program may not be deferred until the next semester. A fresh Scholarship application will be required.
- The Scholarship may be held with any other scholarship
- Students must be international students applied for Masters (taught) of 120 points or more or an undergraduate degree (with overseas secondary or post-secondary qualifications)
