About the UNFPA Ghana Youth Leaders (YoLe) Fellowship Program: The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has the mission to deliver a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every child birth is secure and all young persons’ potential is achieved.
In accordance with the United Nations’ Youth Strategy which summons all UN agencies to “increase impact and enlarge worldwide, regional and country-level action to address the needs, build the agency, and advance the rights of young people in all their differences”, UNFPA Ghana launched the Youth Leaders (YoLe) Fellowship Program. The Program is also linked to the substantial areas of the 2010 Ghana National Youth Policy, which include skills training in ICT, gender mainstreaming, networking and partnership, managing and reproductive health and rights for young people.

Eligibility for UNFPA Ghana Youth Leaders (YoLe) Fellowship Program
- Individuals who have a passion to make a change in their community?
- Individuals between the ages of 18 – 26 years? Individuals who are Ghanaian Tertiary Institution graduates?
If yes, then the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) summonses you to apply for the third edition of the Youth Leaders (YoLe) Fellowship Program!
Interested persons:
- Should be a Ghanaian tertiary institution graduate between the ages of 18 and 26
- Should show interest and commitment to growth issues established through either volunteer experience, work experience, affiliations with a youth network or NGO, in areas of UNFPA’s mandate. (see http://www.unfpa.org/about-us)
- Should dedicate a year to being a UNFPA Youth Leaders Fellow
- Should be hands-on and hold strong inter-personal skills
- Should have a working knowledge of English—a significant requirement for participation in the program for general communication purposes. All application materials must be submitted in English.
Selection Procedure: it will be grounded on established activism or interest in the improvement of the rights of youth, an aspiration to network with others, and a clear explanation of how the fellowship will profit their own efforts for progressing human rights as defined by UNFPA’s mandate.
*The partakers are expected to work complete-time at the UNFPA Ghana Country Office in Accra, Ghana. Partakers may not be otherwise engaged during the fellowship.
