About the Award: Zaragoza Logistics Center and the MIT-Zaragoza International Logistics Program will grant scholarships in the academic session 2019- 2020 for applicants from African countries who can display an outstanding talent for leadership and professional success within the field of Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
From this scholarship award, ZLC aims to attract exceptional future leaders who can add a significant contribution to filling the capacity gap in Africa for well-trained supply chain and logistics professionals.

Eligibility for MIT-Zaragoza African Supply Chain Masters Scholarships
MIT-Zaragoza African Supply Chain Masters Scholarships are granted only to scholars who have been enrolled to the MIT-Zaragoza Master of Engineering in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (ZLOG) program via the ZLC‘s standard admissions process.
The candidates should show outstanding academic attainment and unique personal achievement along with an interest in embarking a career in SCM and Logistics. In addition, to be qualified, applicants must fulfill with the following criteria:
- African citizenship.
- Endorsed entrance to the MIT-Zaragoza Master of Engineering in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (ZLOG) program.
- Accomplishment of a four year undergraduate degree program equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree.
- Professional excellence with a foundation or experience in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, or outstanding academic success.
- Competitive GRE or GMAT scores. Exclusions may be given to persons who have demonstrated solid professional and/or academic success in finishing a college degree – as well as some quantitative training and evidence of innovative verbal and written skill in the English language.
- Eloquence in English, competitive IELTS or TOEFL score – exclusions may be given to persons who have proven evidence of advanced verbal and written proficiency in the English language. In addition, the ability to speak French is an advantage.
MIT-Zaragoza African Supply Chain Masters Scholarships Selection Criteria
The selection criteria for the ZLOG scholarships are strong and very competitive. The applicant will be selected on the grounds of the criteria below:
- Preference will be given to applicants with foundation or work experience in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (25%)
- Financial need (20%)
- Academic excellence as based on academic records (20%)
- Essay detailing why the applicant should be given the scholarship (to be filled out in the Application Form) (20%)
- Recognized initiative and pursuit for external funding opportunities (contacted the ZLC Financial Aid Office, individual search, other applications for scholarships and/or bank loans, etc. (10%)
- Proposal quality: presentation, writing, punctuality in the application, etc. (5%) Candidates will be informed by e-mail of the result. The scholarship receiver will get an award letter.
Benefits of MIT-Zaragoza African Supply Chain Masters Scholarships

- ZLC will award some scholarships which will help in reduction of tuition for the MIT-Zaragoza Master of Engineering in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (ZLOG) program, to the tune of 25% or50%.
- The reduction will rest on on the candidate’s academic accomplishments and characteristic personal success in addition to an interest in pursuing a career in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
- The grant will not encompass other costs such as the administrative dues, accommodation or travel costs to Zaragoza or to Boston for the international exchange.
Note: Tuition does not fund administrative cost (€300), books, accommodation or travel costs to Zaragoza or to Boston for the international exchange. Living expenses differ, contingent on standard of living and whether scholars wish to live alone, with roommates or with a family. The rate of living in Zaragoza is lower than in much of Europe. Currently, a budget of around €400-€600 monthly is the norm for single occupant.
