The objective of a motivation letter is to explain to appropriate authorities why you are the perfect fit for the degree program or scholarship program depending on what you are using the letter for. A motivation letter describes why you are the perfect fit for the position, in other words, the letter of motivation speaks out some of the important aspects of your research proposal that connects with your academic competence.
Motivation letters are required for post-graduate scholarships. However, it may also be required when applying for an undergraduate program/scholarship. In this method , the letter is divided into 5-7 paragraphs where the body of the letter takes 3-4 paragraphs and this completely depends on your preference. Dividing the body into paragraphs is considered to be beneficial, as each paragraph highlights a completely different point and you can express yourself better.
The introduction part of a motivation letter;
In the introduction part, you can briefly tell the reader about yourself and the reason behind your application. This should include your name and education, you also need to specify the program you are applying for. It is important that you do not forget to write your contact information at the top of the letter.
The body part of a motivation letter;
This part of the letter is the most important section of the motivation letter. It takes most part of the letter, it is a voluminous note and manifests your talents, achievements and skills. This is the avenue you have to sell yourself out to the reader, it tells your professional experience, whether paid or unpaid. This part also shows the field you want to pursue a career in and the reasons behind it. It also showcases the motivation you have to bring a positive change to the society. It is important you you to avoid exaggeration in the process of selling yourself out and avoid lies at all cost.
The conclusion part of the motivation letter;
Just as you might have guessed, this part of the motivation letter wraps up the whole letter. This is where you sum up and summarize the entire story, major points and comment on your professional objectives. You should also stress the reason you are the perfect fit for the program also express your gratitude and end the letter.
