Sciences Po Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program for African Studentsare given to scholars from sub-Saharan African nations with an exceptional academic record and strong leadership prospects, but who face monetary and other obstacles to higher education. The grants are given for a duration of three years for the Bachelor’s degree, two years for the Master’s degree and one month for the Summer School. They take care the whole cost of tuition costs at Sciences Po and living costs in France during the study period.
The Mastercard Foundation works with forward-looking organizations to deliver greater access to education, training and monetary services for economically underprivileged individuals, primarily in Africa. Sciences Po Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program for African Students Details
Scholarship awards for the 2020/2021 academic calendar are given in collaboration with a network of partner institutions authorized to nominate candidates.
It is the first institution of higher education in continental Europe to join the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program. In this international network, 27 esteemed institutions in Africa, America and Europe are dedicated to guaranteeing that all young individuals, whatsoever their background, have equal opportunities to get a quality education and meet their potential.
More than six years (2017 – 2022), the Scholars Program will fund:
- Twenty (20) scholarship awardsto finish the Sciences Po Bachelor of Arts program
- Africa specialization
- Forty (40) scholarship awards to finish a Master’s program at one of our seven graduate schools
- Sixty (60) awards earmarked for Mastercard Foundation Scholars studying at other partner institutions and who would like to attend Sciences Po Summer School.

These scholarship awards cover the complete expenses of tuition fees at Sciences Po and living costs in France throughout the study.

- An orientation platform and personalized academic advising throughout their studies at Sciences Po
- A mentor program offered in partnership with the Africa Division of Sciences Po Alumni
- Career guidance and support: an online job platform devoted to professional prospects in Africa (internships and first jobs), access to our business incubator and the network of employers and alumni working in Africa, and precise career workshops.
Length of Program: The scholarships are granted for a period of three years for the Bachelor’s degree, two years for the Master’s degree and one month for the Summer School.
