The RTP offers block awards, on a yearly basis, to higher education providers (HEPs) to support both domestic and abroad students undertaking Research Doctorate and Research Masters degrees, recognized as higher degrees by research (HDRs). Program Period:

Scholarship Coverage
Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarship provides the recipient with the following benefits:
- An RTP Stipend to help candidates with their living expenses while studying a higher degree by research.
- An RTP Fees Award pays for the tuition fees of a higher degree by research (HDR) candidate that would otherwise have been paid by the candidate. This requires the university to completely offset tuition fee of the student. This is not a stipend.
- RTP Allowances to help candidates with auxiliary expenses of a higher degree by research (HDR). This comprises relocation expenses to undertake a HDR, HDR thesis printing and academic publication expenses and health cover expenses for beneficiaries and their dependents.
