The German Bundestag IPS Exchange Program application is now open for high performing Sub-Saharan Africans to study in Germany. Applicants will gain first hand information and experience during he four weeks program of the of the German parliamentary system and decision-making processes.
This scholarship program 2023, applicants from Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda the German Parliament is inviting to participate in the annual International Parliamentary Scholarship programme for African Countries. The program provides monthly scholarship of 500euros, covers costs of health, accident and personal liability insurance, accommodation and costs of travel to and from Berlin.

Eligibility Criteria
To become eligible for this scholarship applicants must meet the following requirement:
- Applicants must be a citizen of the three participating African countries
- Applicants must have obtained a good university degree
- Applicants must have interest in politics, social/political commitment
- Applicants must be under the age of 30 at the start of the scholarship
- Applicants must possess a very good knowledge of German
Application Procedures
Applicants who are interested in the German Bundestag Exchange Scholarships 2023 are expected send their completed online application documents by email as a PDF-file, with the file name consisting of applicant’s surname followed by applicant’s given name (i.e., surname-first name), to the German mission in their home country. Applicants must also submit their application in German and with scanned documents ( passport photo attached to the first page of the application form, evidence of very good knowledge of German, copy of passport or ID card, personal statement of reasons for applying maximum of two pages, certified copy of university degree certificate and a letter of recommendation in German or English from a university professor or employer, assessing the applicant’s qualification for the programme).
